Happy Valentine's Day

Hope you all had a wonderful day......whether single or taken. I had a lot of fun last night making Valentine's cookies for some of my friends and then wrapping them up all perty. They were all hearts and lip shapes. Fun, fun.

So, if you've been watching the news, you've probably heard that New York had a record snow fall on Sunday. We had 27 inches in one day! The most snow in one day since 1947. Crazy! It was so beautiful. I woke up to a blizzard outside of my window. And then when I had to go to church, I was walking in fresh powder snow (wish I was skiing!!) up to my knees. I was so excited! We still have lots of snow, although it's slowly melting. I was wondering when the real winter was gonna come round here!

Today was an enjoyable work day. I've been painting for the past week and a half in our church. Today, there were 4 of us painting and we ended up having a paint war in the church! So much fun. I haven't laughed so hard in ages....tell me about laughing being good for you! We got paint all over eachother's clothes, hair and faces. It was hilarious. Anyways....won't name off all the stupid things that happened, but just thought I'd let you share in my joy for a moment.

Tomorrow most of the Sidewalk staff will be going into Manhattan to a toy convention. It's a huge convention where companies bring their new toys to, but they don't plan on taking them back with them. So, they've promised us a semi truck full of toys (I'm not sure if it was for a reduced price or for free) as long as we supplied the labor to load the toys. So we'll be doing that tomorrow. Should be fun! Always nice to have a change from the everyday grind.

I'm so looking forward to starting Sunday School back up again. It is so hard to occupy my time in a productive manner right now. God is definitely testing me in the trust area. He's shown me time and time again that I need to fully rely on him and trust him that things will work out. I've even had one of my friends approach me on it, since when she was praying God put on her heart to pray for me about trusting him. It's challenging, but definitely something I've been focusing on. Many times, when the world around us seems to be going crazy, and here we are caught in the eye of the storm, it's hard to trust God to take care of those around us. That's definitely how I feel right now. And I want to encourage those of you who are trying to do it on your own. Figure out life, solve your problems.......you can't do it on your own. But God has given you a promise: All things are possible through Christ who strengthens you! But it's when we put our complete trust in God, that we allow him to do his work in us, through us, and for us. I challenge you to look at who's trying to deal with you problems. Are you trying to do it on your own? Or are you trusting God to take care of you?

Thanks you all for your emails. I love hearing from you, even though it's rare that you hear back from me. Just know that I love you all so very much. You all have such a special place in my heart......especially my family and my girls (you know who you are!) I love you!
