Another week down

We ended off the week with a huge thunderstorm yesterday. Unfortunately it was my site, so I didn't see as many kids....only about 73 kids compared to about 150 kids. But still, those kids I did see heard the Word of God!
We've been having trouble with people throwing bricks at our Yogi Bear trucks in one of our lots. It's terrible, because from one of the surrounding apartment buildings they've been throwing whole bricks or chunks of bricks onto our trucks. So far we've had a broken window, a broken windshield and some good dents in out trucks. Not good! So, now we've had to move them about 5 blocks down from where our office is, in the lot of our new ministry building. Safe from bricks, but it's not so safe from break-ins. We'll see how it all works out.
Today was indoor Sunday School. There is a church from California that for the second year now took 150 girls that we know from coming to sunday school and made them princesses for a day. It's incredible what they did! They gave each of the girls a beautiful dress, shoes and a tiara to wear to a beautiful restaurant where they were treated like princesses. Considering the location and all the dresses and meal costs, the minimum amount of money they spent on the whole ordeal would be $30,000 dollars. All this so that some of our girls could feel like a princess for a day! And just knowing what some of these kids are living in, they so deserve to be treated as a princess.
I don't know if I've mentioned it, but the past 6 weeks we've been doing lessons on the Ten Commandments. It's been so interesting! Think about it: teaching a kid about not murdering. But it's been really good. The kids are excited about memorizing them so they can win candy for saying them. It's so cute! But you know that they really are hearing what we're preaching.
